help id g makers mark green ruffled top dish
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:32:41 AM »
I have this green hobnail ruffled top dish, it is 3 3/4" high, 5 5/8" wide & cannot find who the maker is. It is a lower case letter g in a circle. I have searched for days & cannot find anything like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looks American to me. Try looking at Fenton hobnail

Maybe IG = Imperial Glass. A picture of the mark would help us  :)

It is very hard to see (I have to use a jewelers loupe to see it) & my camera doesn't pick it up. Thanks for your replies. I'll try searching those 2. :)

Have you tried putting a piece of paper over the mark and rubbing it with a soft pencil....like a brass rubbing?
Is it a lower case g or a capital G....that might help us to help you as well.
Rosie.

Lower case g & the mark is in an indentation, I can't get the paper to lay flat :(
