Hi all,
Can anyone help me to identify the origin, maker or date of this beautiful piece of art glass. I'm not sure as to what it should be either a brick, slab, tile or paperweight. The piece is of quite high quality and has the depth of colour and quality texture similar to a Whitefriars textured piece. The piece is very heavy and measures 4.75" high x 4.75" wide x 1.75" depth. Hope you can help.

Fisher.

Love it  :sun: gut instinct says it looks like a Scandinavian bird but sorry I can't help more.  Someone will come along shortly I'm sure, who will know more.

What a wonderful piece!  It looks like a seagull sitting on a mooring post with the water rippling round the base of the post.......we MUST find out who made it.......where did you find it and where are you located, Fisher?

Hi,
Thank you so much Madam Medusa and Rosie for your very kind comments about this piece. I agree with Rosie's very well described description of this piece. To answer Your questions Rosie I am located in glorious NorthYorkshire and won it in a boxed lot at auction.

Wow that was a quick reply Rosie, I have tried to search for it too but for the moment come up short. I am sure I have seen this piece before quite some time ago when I was doing some research for another piece, but for the life of me I can not remember who made it nor it's origin. I remembered the design and form the moment I saw it it the box, and when I picked it up WOW it is so tactile and heavy.

I'm thinking perhaps a glass company on the coast.....bearing in mind the subject..........it does have a scandi look though.......I wish I had seen it!
