Hello all I am new to this board, and hopefully I can find some help id'ing what I have been told may be a Fratelli Toso Millefiori Murano art glass piece. It measures 9 inches tall and is almost 7 inches wide. I believe it is cased glass, as you can see a definite layer on the inside surrounded by the caned glass. It has a light gold spray paint effect going on on the outside. Anyhow, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Landon :X:

Hi and welcome to the Board.

It is millefiori, but I've seen these pieces attributed to Campanella, another Murano company. I have a piece with the same canes and the same golden surface. I'd be interested to hear what TxSilver and Tam Bam say.  It's a nice piece, just not as old as some of the Fratelli Toso millefiori.

This is a toughie. Definitely not F. Toso. Probably not Campanella or Bucella. They had gold sparkling on the surface of all the pieces I've seen from them. It could have been so many companies. The only thing I can say is to put "millefiori vase" (minus toso) into Google and see if you can find this pattern of canes. It may be difficult to find.

I suspect that at least some of the canes could be regular, and still current, Moretti produce which are sold worldwide. But overall, I would think this vase was made in Murano.

Anita:

I think it does have the gold sparkling effect, although it's not too clear in the photos.  Azorcawa writes, "It has a light gold spray paint effect going on on the outside." That's what led me to Campanella.

See my piece:

PS I think it's relatively recent, 1970's at earliest.

Yes, to all questions. Yes you can repost the pictures as you see fit for better identification. Yes, it does have gold fleck all over the outside of the piece. It is stunning held at the right angles in the light. Looks like real gold. Is it considered cased glass when a clear layer of glass is under the outside layer of canes? this one appears to have that going on as well.
Thanks to you all for your help, this is very informative!

The small bowl shown in the above post shows the same kind of gold flecks in it that my piece has.
