Topic: pearline glass - actually opalescent uranium

hi,everyone, picked up this charming little jug/vase and would love to know your thoughts on it, it is light green with a pink and white rim, it has a rough pontil to base and some lovely ornate decoration,has an applied handle, measures 5inches in height, i live in the north east of england where a lot of pearline glass was made but i thought it was all pressed glass,can anyone give me any info,thanks so much eric

Pearline is strictly for Davidson glass (and perhaps Greener, as they were naughty copy cats). Your jug is opalescent uranium glass (the technique is the same: reheated uranium glass containing arsenic or is it bone ash, can't remember off hand) with cranberry trim. Victorian and probably English is probably as good as you are going to get.
