Topic: Pair of blue decanters

Hello everybody
I hope you can help.....I have a pair of blue glass decanters.  I know nothing about their origins but they were bought in an antique shop in Gran Canaria. 
Each one measures 63 centimetres and weighs around 2.5 kilos.
I believe that they are quite old but I'm not sure :-)
The condition is almost perfect but the gold has rubbed away in places.
Can anybody throw any light on these please. 
I have not found anything that looks like a mark or signature.

I think these are typical of Persian/Turkish style but I'm sure someone will come along and be able to help more.

I sent my question to the Corning museum and one of the assistant curators has sent me the following information:-

"Enameled and gilded decanters, they are most likely Bohemian from the mid-19th century.  The body of the decanters is an English form and then decorated in a exotic or “Oriental” style that was popular"

Can anyone add to this please?

I have seen these frequently in Spain and always gave them a berth because it is unclear what they are or where they come from. The originals were made in Bohemia for the Turkish and Persian markets - but Belgium also produced similar for export to the ottoman empire. The ones i found in Spain were a little crude for Bohemian and I have always suspeced Syrian or Moroccan copies of more recent date. The fact that you find 2 identical ones in a tourist place makes you wonder. ....

I bow to your superior knowledge but Las Palmas is the capital of the island and as such is not really that touristy.  Would you please point me in the right direction to follow your hunch that they might be copies?
