Tall antique blue glass vase
« on: October 04, 2011, 10:57:59 AM »
Can anyone please help me to identify this beautiful tall blue glass vase that I bought twenty years ago in a Canadian antique fair? I couldn't post the photo because the file was too large, but you can access a visual via this link: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150406764990815.413070.552230814&l=e723f8c274&type=1

Thank you
Gillian

Hi there
and welcome to the board.
Unfortunitly I cant help you ID it currently, but would it be possible to get a photo of the base, this generally helps a great deal when trying to ID  piece.
Here is a link to the thread on how to post pictures onto the board (although I have to say I still cant do it) you can also use outside image hosting sites like Picasa, flickr and the glassgallery.
all the best
michelle

A pic of the rim mght help too.  It looks like it might be from the Empoli region of Italy, I've seen others from there with that diamond pattern, they also tend to have a slightly uneven rim.

Thank you for your interest in helping me to identify my vase. Here are two more pictures - one of the base and one of the rim.

Still looks like Empoli to me with that rim + pattern, but wait to see what others think.

Thanks Wayne - that is interesting and encouraging - I look forward to hearing what others think

Any ideas on how I could obtain a valuation for the vase?

Gillian
