Topic: "Drunken Bricklayer" -- could I really be so lucky?

Found this vase yesterday in my local charity shop, and was sure it couldn't be a Whitefriars "drunken bricklayer" vase, as I have never seen anything from Whitefriars here in Austria before, and even on German ebay with ten thousands of vintage glass items from all over the world, there is hardly ever a Whitefriars piece for sale.
It cost 5,- Euro, so I bought it nevertheless...

But now after doing some research here on the board and on the whitefriars.com website, it seems that it could be the real thing; can anybody confirm this?

Hight appr. 20.5 cm, moulded base with circular polished pontil mark, the dimples on the middle brick seem in the right position (although some are rather shallow), clear casing.

All looks good to me, see if I can get Wolfies attention  just to be sure, he was I think responsible for the tutorial on the fake brick and hooped vases, the base looks right just the pattern of dimples needs confirming, will email him now to confirm before you get too excited

What Ho! I confirm that this is a genuine Whitefriars Bricklayer, the dimples, base and proportions are all correct. Nice find, Wolfie

I was sure Whitefriars would be impossible to find here...
I wonder how the vase found its way to Vienna; I guess Whitefriars hasn't been widely imported to Austria (if at all).

What Ho! There has been 3 different batch's of fake small DBL's. Here is a couple of pics to show the dimple layouts.
The first pic, on the left is a genuine Tangerine next to a fake from the 3rd batch and the second pic in the dimple layout from the 1st and 2nd batches. There are also fakes of the large DBL's, Wolfie

If it had come from ebay I would have been highly suspicous; but from a charity shop at that prize I couldn't do much wrong...

Yes they were mass produced but they are so well known here that they command that kind of inflated price. There are many collectors....
