generally I thought we had a policy of not commenting on live auctions but if you are really thinking of bidding on it as real Galle......

Sorry moderators -IMHO less than 10 years old. Rule 3: 'for original Galle' - with a few strange and rare exceptions - the signature is always in the bottom third of the vessel.

There is no board policy on commenting on live auctions. Many people don't like to though, probably for a variety of different reasons.

Yup.  One of my reasons for not commenting on live auctions is that I had once trawled ebay for weeks, looking for one particular glass thing that I wanted.  Eventually I found it...listed in the wrong place and cheap too!  Yippeee!  However, a few days later a GMB member put it on the board for ID with a link to the exact ebay listing.  Arrggh! ::)
