Is this another Sklo Union Vase?
« on: October 14, 2011, 08:20:49 PM »
Another one I haven't been able to find! This one is 7 3/4" H, with rows of raised "waves". Any ideas?

Hi Deb  :)
Your vase is Rosice, pattern number 985, and came in 3 sizes: 20cm, 25cm and 30cm.  Unfortunately, I don't know who the designer is.

(Have you got Marcus Newhall's Sklo Union: Art Before Industry?  If you haven't, I highly recommend it. It's a great reference for collectors interested in postwar Czech pressed glass, and includes a searchable database and catalogues.)

Thanks! I do have Marcus Newhall's book, but managed to miss this one.

It's not good just to use the word Sklo, as it just means glass. Much better to use Sklo Union.  ;)
