Vase ID help please
« on: November 09, 2011, 04:03:22 PM »
Any idea who might have made this vase?
It is about 8.75 inches tall. The bottom is ground but not polished.
Stiled like Jack in the Pulpit but with cut petals?

Hi! :hi:
It's a strangely attractive piece - the body is an old style, but the rim finish, the thickness, the very bright colours, the rough-and-ready style of base finish, the fact that the base is not polished flat with the bases of the side-stripes (which extend right to the same level as the base on older pieces), are all telling me to think this is contemporary Chinese glass.

Thanks for the info Sue. My mother said she just saw one like it on Ebay. I'm off to see about that one!
