Green Ribbed & Mold Blown Form Vase. Need Help To Identify.
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:06:49 PM »
Hello.  This vase reminds me of pieces designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk or Tapio Wirkkala's pieces for Iittala.  It has very this ridges or ribs that run up the sides and a thick, clear base.  The rim has been polished also.  It measures 6.75" inches tall.

Dorian, you do find the loveliest glass....I have just been looking at your latest postings and am going  with envy.  Wish I could help with identification.....I always have a good look though, so you never know!

Thanks Rosie.  That's nice to hear.  I have a fairly large collection, but I don't have an ID on some of the pieces.  I go with my gut instinct when I pick up pieces.

I was thinking that this also may be made by Humppila glassworks.  I've seen a few similar forms with labels, but not in this color.  Perhaps, another member will chime in with some ideas.

Also, I appreciate your comments.  Friendly members are always welcome to post on my queries, even if it just to say that they admire a piece.   :D

I think this is a "Cumulus" vase designed by Marrku Salo for Iittala & Nuutajarvi.  I found a similar vase on designlasi.com:  http://www.designlasi.com/en/content/cumulus-693-salo-markku-en

Anyone want to confirm?
