glass vase - real murano?
« on: December 06, 2011, 02:45:56 PM »
Hi,

I'm new to this so please be gentle.  I've purchased this glass vase as a gift. I was told it's an authentic murano, but I'm curious as to what you think?

[Mod: eBay images removed and replaced with Eustace's own - see later posting.]
Kind regards,
Eustace

First of all, welcome to the board and let me begin by complimenting you on your photography. I think you have a brilliant vase wherever it was made. The transparent Murano sticker on the side is a sort of giveaway, even if it is not quite clear what its status may be.

I'm sure someone will come along with more detailed information on this striking piece.

Hi Ivo,

Thanks very much for the quick reply!  I see the sticker as well, but I worry that someone can just slap a sticker on anything and call it murano. In any case, I love the vase! I'm just curious if anyone here has some expertise to figure out the maker and perhaps some other information.

Kind regards,
Eustace

I think that's a gorgeous vase - beautiful combination of colours.  I hope it's a gift to yourself!?  I'm sure someone will be along soon with something helpful to say.
