Topic: Any thoughts please on green water jug

Any thoughts please on this 6 inch tall green water jug with faint zig zag decoration. It has a polished out concave pontil mark to base similar to Whitefriars. There are 2 currently on ebay in amber and aubergine claiming to be Whitefriars but I have been told this is wrong. Any suggestions for maker much appreciiated, thanks John

Could be Webb.

These jugs have been discussed on a number of occasions on the GMB. There is no conclusion, since none have been found marked, or labeled. Nor have they been seen in archives as yet,........but then nobody has been looking specificlly for them 

Possibly Webb, or Stevens & Williams, but no assurances there. However, they are not Whitefriars, since there are too many inconcruities in their characteristics.

Yesterday, I was searching for something in some archive pictures and I found something interesting, but, I'm afraid not conclusive (wrong moulding, but right form).

I have put it up for a short time for GMB members. Unfortunately, it cannot stay online because the photos were taken for private use and therefore do not have permission to be published.
