Topic: strange shape vase. maybe cut pattern

Hi, I bought this yesterday at a very cold car boot sale. I've never seen anything like it before. Its just over 10inches tall (26cms) 3 and a half inches across the base (9cms) and 2inches across the top (5cms) It is smoothly frosted and I think the pattern is cut in as the circles are of slightly differing sizes. There are six circles on the top half in between four wavy lines, the base has eight circles.The base is slightly concaved and polished, the rim too is polished smooth. Its very heavy, nearly 1cm thick. Anyone have any ideas, it will probably end up at my sons flat as he get all my glass that doesn't fit in with mine.   Cheryl

it´s german or austrian for sure, but sadly that´s all the information available right now. I´ve seen several of
these over the years and some of them had a label reading ´Bleikristall 24%PbO´ (lead crystal) or similar. At
a guess - because of the combination of techniques I´d be leaning towards Alfred Taube.

Thanks for that Dirk, been googling Albert Taube, found one piece that looks like the same technique, its quite nice but I think my son would like it more than I do!!!!   Cheryl

Not my cup of tea either, which may be the reason I´ve been able to resist to buy one...

Is it meant to hold a candle?

I have a similar vase but broader that I've attributed to Nachtmann so far. I don't think my vase was labelled, but I got the attribution from www.glaskilian.de. It looks like a Nachtmann sort of pattern in my opinion.
