Pink mdina?
« on: December 21, 2011, 09:22:04 PM »
Hi all
Quick question, did mdina do pink glass designs?  I saw a pink vase in a charity shop today.  Haven't bought it (yet) as I wondered if it was something Chinese that had been dremelled and a fake label stuck on, but the shape and base seemed right and the glass felt good.

It does but there are so few that are similar to the one I've seen which makes me wary.  Probably unnecessarily, I guess, but I thought I'd ask the experts.

Using Search on this board often bears fruit, Mdina did use pink usually in a splodgy fashion and often with white. Here is one example: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,35783.0.html

A fake signature etc. is highly unlikely on something like this, they can usually be picked up at the low end of the price range on ebay and it would not be worth the effort to attempt to add any value.

Mtarfa and Phoenecian also made pink splodgy and seen side by side you'd be hard put to tell the difference, but as John says no particular value
