Topic: Is this what is called 'Pulled Feather' design ??

Is that the correct term for these?  Pulled feather?  Or is it something else they are called?  I filed them here on the computer under that term, so I hope  :X: it is right.  I bet you know the maker too.....(a little quiz)

These seem to spiralled for what I understand Pulled Feather items to be.  Feathers have a central spine and swirly parallel other bits.  Too achieve this e effect in glas what O&F and others seem to do is to Create a very fine spiral of glass and then pull some sort of scraper through them bot up and down to make the "Spine" of the feathering.  I have attached some photos of what I believe is pulled-feather work.

Yes, Robert Held. 

I am not sure IF I got a good deal or not -- as I am not sure IF they are candlesticks holders, or perfume holders that should have had glass stoppers in them.  From what I can find on the Net -- they look like perfume holders.  But then again appears to be some wax on them so maybe the original owner had also used them for candlesticks?   I bought these at a sale and I think on another table I had saw 2 long glass stoppers just taped together.....so maybe they had went with these....but the Auction place never knew (and neither did I) as I thought these were candle holders. 

I *might* put the word out at the auction place to see IF anyone bought 2 single glass stoppers from that sale.  Can not hurt ??    to ask, as it is usually a lot of the same people there.  So candle sticks or perfume bottles with Stoppers - which do you think??

Look like candle holders to me, Rose, although Held does do a lot of perfume bottles as well.

Ps Held also uses the pulled feather technique, but not here.  It's fenicio in Murano, btw.

If they are perfumes there will be some vidence if Grinding to fit inside the pieces.  My impression is that they are far too wide and are candleholders.  Why not send to Robert Held direct he may have apttern name and identify what they are?
