« on: January 10, 2012, 02:27:22 PM »
Hello, this vase was listed on eBay as Schneider, but doesn't look like Schneider to me, any thoughts?

Hi

I wonder if it started life in a metal cage and was a blown out vase

then  it just might very possibly be Schneider!

Hello, thank you for that....I only own two Schneider references, the excellent one by Edith Manoni, and the exceedingly rare Helmut Ricke....Manoni only has two pages dedicated to "Fer Forge", wrought iron, whereas Ricke has no reference to it at all. This model is not in the Manoni, she only has examples of the "Epines" vases, and a few bowls and lamps/light fixtures....

The book by Joulin & Maier shows several "Vase Filetés" - but none like the one in question

Does this vase fit the classification for a "Vase Filetes"?

The book is multilingual - the English description is "ribbed body". The vase in question has a more elaborate structure than the vases in the book - so I'm not sure it qualifies for the description.

I have mentioned "Vase Filetés" as they were the closest I could find in the book.

The vase arrived today, and from the use of colored powders, etc, I would say it is Schneider, very nice too. Now to find a name for it....
