Topic: Little enamelled yellow vase, im thinking Legras?

Any thoughts on this pretty enamelled vase please , 5 inches tall.
My guess is Legras.

Don't know if it is or not (it might well be) - but I think it may have been taller at one time. See how the decoration disappears into the cut-off?

I don't know either, I had a quick look round but couldn't see similar.  However, just picking up on Ivo's comment, on one of my vases the enamel picture  is right up to the rim, however it is a firepolished rim so it's a different finish to yours.  But then on yours the picture seems to go right to the base as well, so perhaps it may be the design.  Is yours mould blown from the top maybe and so has a cut rim? I couldn't tell from the picture, but I couldnt' see a pontil mark.

Just checked, it hasnt been cut down, the top is nicely polished, and there is a few tiny spots of the enamel green of
the trees , on the top. The interior is yellow, with the painted clear on the top.
I havent cleaned it yet, and it is absolutey filthy inside and out! Its going to look very different in a moment, i may add another
picture.
The base is smooth, so i presume mould blown.

Arrrh  :usd: - lovely, I agree. The trees are Birch trees which are omnipresent from Brussels to Wladiwostock...

Looks like its hand blown to me but the quick way - cold cut top and no pontil

Silver birches were a favourite image for Legras, but this doesn't quite feel Legras to me -just another (very good) one of the 100-200 or so nameless French/Belgian blank enamellers of the 1920s /30s.

If the inside is painted - it looks it -be very careful cleaning it as that yellow could come off quite easily. I have know people buy a similar vase taken it home and given it a good clean and ended up with an almost clear and worthless blank!

isn't the yellow interior a layer of glass, then cased in clear then enamelled on the clear?
It's a curious thing, when they enamelled on the inside of the vases - I've seen a beautifully exterior enamelled vase completely ruined because the interior was so badly scratched  why did they 'paint' the interior with something that would come off? Is it actually enamelled really but badly damaged through use and washing though?

the inside is a thin layer of glass i believe, not paint, cant scratch it !its cleaned up well, no damage  :thup:

I just thought the yellow casing looked similar, so could it be Romanian perhaps?
