« on: February 07, 2012, 11:24:04 AM »
Hi

I have found this lovely uranium dressing table set decorated with flowers and leaves - despite spending hours looking on the net  I have been unable to identify the maker - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks  :help:

Although, like Christine, this is one I've not seen before. I'll go delve through my files and see what I can find...  :X:

:hi: deblam, hi and welcome to the board. May I add your pics to the trinket set site please? Full credit will be given of course.

I think the flower might be a daffodil.

deblam, thank you! (Are you OK with being called deblam or do you have something you'd prefer we call you?)  The flower is a daffodil or a narcissus.

I agree the flower looks a little as though it comes from the daff. family - but I'm thinking that the leaves of a daff. don't exit the stem like that??     Of course, it might just be a stylized plant.          What makes you think that id ing the flower will necessarily help id the trinket set?         If it is a daff. then I would imagine the family are global in distribution. :)           If you've looked at all of Pamela's images, then we may have a problem.
P.S.    sorry about the throat infection Anne ;)

Hi

Thank you all -  I'm happy to be called Deblam or Deb - I just thought that if I had the name of the flower I could try to google it to see if someone has described it... just a thought - but as you say it could be a stylised flower. I'm pretty certain it is not a daff in anycase.   Any suggestions as to possible makers - when I first saw it I thought it might be Walther as the quality of the set - with the raised moulded flowers, leaves and berries (well I think they are berries/beads - (on the candlesticks) are really good - but  after looking at the known designs I don't think so.  I also have a vase which has similar type raised moulded flowers at the bottom - satin glass for the flowers against plain glass - (The candlesticks are satin glass with the exception of the sconces)  I haven't yet identified this vase but I have seen it on a website for sale  and they have said it was Jobling although I have been unable to find any confirmation of this.  I would be grateful for any thoughts on possible makers I could start looking at.

Thank you
