Funeral?Blue Victorian? wire insert vase?help please

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone could date this vase, or tell me if it is a funeral vase? i have never seen this wire insert before.I was thinking the painting looks French? and it looks hand painted.Please if you can throw any light on my newly aquired mystery vase i would REALLY appreciate it.x

Your vase is a form known as a tube vase. They came into fashion in the 1880s and remained popular and made by many companies for 50 years or so. (Info from Patricia) They were household items. Unusual to find the flower support though. Can't really see the enamelling, which will be hand done, to determine quality or style from your pix.

Thanks for that info..i thought as it had the insert support that it may have been for displaying flowers in a crematoriam? but equally it could be household as you say.If you click on the pic i think it may open larger for you to see the enamelling?   :hi:

I cant even find anything about the wire/metal insert...i was hoping to find some info on that,which may help date the vase..but nothing,this is becoming frustrating lol
