Translucent bottles interlocking. 1920's?
« on: February 15, 2012, 01:53:59 AM »
Hi all,  I have had these unusual looking bottles for a while and very little information is obtainable.  Height - 33.5cm, base length - 15.5cm and base width - 9.2cm  It would be interesting to find out how these were made as the bottles have uneven shape lines running down the sides and under the base.  I am not sure if these are joins, during the making process.  The surface of the bottles have a smooth finish nearer the base area but towards the neck is slightly rough.  On the right hand side of the bottles, nearer the base (curved area), reads - Paco.  On the base reads: 75cl O.FREY + Cie. S.A  BERNE.  I am not sure whether these bottles could be described as being iridescent as the primary colour is brown but changes slightly to a green when held up to light.
I was able to find  similar bottles on the site -  1stdibs.com, however, not very much information is given.  Any information or leads, will be of great help.   Confirmation is also required that these were made made in Berne, Switzerland around the 1920's.

They remind me of truffle bottles.

Recent packaging for meat extract /liebig/oxo etc.  Google will reveal much if not all.
