Glass clock ?
« on: February 26, 2012, 12:27:47 PM »
I found this clock. I needed the clock for another item and the glass came with it.  This is a confusing one for me. I'm sure I saw this or one similar on here but cant find a link or a correctly worded search. I thought the glass was a candle holder for some reason but the clock is modern and dont think there is much that says it has any age. If anyone knows anything at all please let me know.  It is14.5cm long and 9cm high. Amethyst in colour that looks good in sunlight.  8) :o Two days of sun so far this year  8) 8)

Just noticed that when a UV light is shone into this it reacts with a dull green. Is that Manganese ?? Its not bright enough at all for uranium.

It's manganese and almost certainly what's been used to give the purple colour
