have absolutely no idea about this sommerso piece
« on: March 18, 2012, 12:38:29 AM »
Hi everyone,

This piece has me stumped and I would appreciate any help. It has a flat, polished base and is heavily cased. Length 7 inches, height 4 inches and diameter 5 inches.

Thanks!

Could it be Chribska? Have a gander through these and see if you find a match:

Hi,

What a gorgeous site - eye candy and just saved to my favorites! But sadly - nothing close in terms of base, colour or "frill" treatment. Appreciate the point to the site as so much Chribska is "identified" as Chalet glass (my main love) and this site is a great reference.

Hi again,

Chalet glass is usually gorgeous (some bad peices but then again all lines have those). Check out www.chaletvinatageglass.com for a sampling so you can see what it is. Canadian glass house of that era (1960' and 1970's), exception Altaglass, all Maestri and artists from Murano. Most settled in Montreal. Some really cool pieces of that vintage. I attached some examples - Chalet used uranium too.
