For Interest and reference, ive taken a couple of pics from my computer screen , from BBC iplayer of the Antiques Roadshow 18th March 2012, can't imagine there is any copyright problems with that ! ?

Its about 20minutes in to the show.
A Sculpture of 12 bricks on a metal stand, No. 1 , dated 1971 signed Michael Harris Mdina Glass Malta ,
the chap asked for it to be signed when he bought it at the Mdina Studio in 1971.
Value given £1500-2000.

Maybe someone could put the clip on youtube ?? I'm not clever enough.
Heres a couple of screen shots, if i had been watching in HD i would have taken them from the TV ! I will look out for a repeat !

So is it in its original "setting"? or has somebody mounted them?

There was a set of greeny blue ones on ebay recently which didn't sell @ £275-ish.
(I don't have a spare £275-ish or spare space for it  )

watch the clip, the chap said thats how they were at the Mdina 'hanger', on a shelf, the expert (Will Farmer, it wasnt Andy McConnell or Mark Hill ) said they were a special commission for a wall at a house on Malta, and were probably spares or seconds, and that Michael, obviously decided to mount them as a piece of art, rather than throw them away.

I think we discussed the cubes on here quite recently, i couldnt find it on the search, i know its not quite working properly yet.

Sorry, I confess to not having watched it - the pics were fine for me and I really don't like trying to watch moving images on the pc.
I also had to pop out to the local shops, bumping into my neighbours at the front door - they immediately waved and shouted; "Sue - did you see Antiques Roadshow last night? there was this hideous and really boring paperweight valued at £20,000 and some lovely Mdina - all squares of glass, mounted....."
 
But they told me the story of the panels.

Most folk this end were simply stunned that a boring (yes, it was BORING. Michael called me through to see it.) wee lump of glass with a couple of flowery bits in, void of artistic merit, (concensus opinion from Dundee) could have such a huge price attached.  Clichy, cliche ..... 


I had to explain to my neighbours (who are artists) about pwts being a different category of collectable thing to other sorts of glass....... 

No offence to those who do like this sort of thing, of course.

Funnily enough, my parents asked me which item was worth the most. I said it's the paperweight, it's probably French and made by Clichy. I know nothing about paperweights so it came as a bit of a surprise that i was right.

I caught a glimpse of "pink flower is clear blob" and guessed if it was being featured it would be a chiche rose thing. I went straight back to the kitchen - I was dripping suds and it wasn't enough to keep my interest over the discomfort.
