------------> I just Dunno ??
« on: March 29, 2012, 04:29:25 PM »
Hi there:

I am really unsure of this big bowl.  Part of me says (maybe) Murano but newer piece.  But the colors I think Mexico (maybe) and I just am not sure of it.  It does look Muraro to me (style, shape, and base) and the base does have a ground pontil scar (but the bigger edges have some grinding to them (plus also wear) ..... So I just can not decide.

Size is about 14 inches wide...

Could this BE newer Murano....or like maybe the last 10 - 15 years?  Or is it older still?  What are your thoughts on this.  It came in the Box of Glass I bought with the Blue Striped Vase *HERE  So who knows?  Maybe both are just newer.  Did Murano DO colors like this ???

As stated -- I dunno  ???  Thanks for any replies

**So a POLL to all GMB members:  Murano    ______YES            ______NO     ??

I've heard of a company called Ferro, haven't really looked into it other than it being Murano, but i think they did bowls as thin as this.

Thanks for some info....I am not sure of this.  Want to say Murano --  but the color makes me think it could be newer.  Still lost on this one.......

That finish on the base is immaculate Rose. It reminds me of the base of a Bohemian glass bowl I had.  I'm wondering if maybe it isn't Italian?  Perhaps it is Czechoslovakian or German maybe?  But I can't think of who ....sorry.
