Cenedese Fish?
« on: April 06, 2012, 08:08:42 PM »
Hi Guys! :)

Is this a candese fish? Extremely heavy and very well executed. No inclusions in the glass. My only other thought was perhaps Caithness.

Thanks :)

Chris

Hi Chris,  do you mean Cenedese?  If so, it might be worth asking a Mod to change the title for you so Cenedese attracts those with more knowledge.

Are there any markings at all on it?

I don't think it is Caithness,  but I could be wrong,  I don't 'do' fish I'm afraid.

I found this....does it help?

I recognise the fish I think, but wracking my brains I can't think of the maker at the moment.
I don't think it was Cenedese though.

It may well be from Caithness, not an exact match to the 'Bob the Fish' from their Zoo range but definitely a strong contender to my eye. If anyone has Mark Hill's book on Caithness their Zoo is shown on page 124.

Nothing like the following Cenedese fish that is packed full of uranium (this is the only photo of it I have at present) it is about 25 long. I imagine Cenedese produced other styles of fish too, as it happens I am waiting for what I hope is a Cenedese starfish to arrive too.

I think that's a great match  ;D and is probably where I saw it searching for one I had but mine was a different colour/scavo and maker.
Have you searched here on the board now for Gambaro e Poggi?  may be more will come up.

Hi Chris,  yes, m is correct,  there is one here on the board somewhere,  I know I have seen it.
At one time I had all the Caithness animals, so was sure it wasn't one of theirs, but I just knew it had been featured here somewhere. It might be worth adding the word scavo to the search....I'll have a go as well.......race you to find it!!
