If Salvador based his vase on the Schneider vase in the earlier link where he worked prior to moving to Scotland and my vase was made say1921/23 just prior to Monart being formed in 1924. Would it still be classed as Monart or just Salvador Ysart. All very hypothetical , we may never know for sure.

I did think the neck looked funny. It's missing something.  ;D
Thanks, Gary.

Thanks Gary for the positive ID . Would appear to be not a very common piece stopper or no stopper.

Please feel free to use pictures or ask for any others if they can be of any use to any one.

Thanks again Roy

It's a beautiful find :)  And lovely to have confirmation it's Monart.

It reminds me a lot of Schneider vases especially the colour and the shape, but I don't think the way the colour is laid on is done in the same way Schneider colour is.  Having said that Schneider made a huge variety of pieces so maybe somewhere there might be something similar I guess.

Thanks for sharing.  It's fabulous.

Thanks m for your reply.

I think it is based on a Schneider vase similar to the one in the link below.

Possibly I suppose it could be.  But the way the colour is laid on and the colouring methods used are not to my eye the same.

I think they both look very different and that both are magnificent pieces in their own right :)

m I agree with you 100%

I think what I was trying to say was the actual shape of both vases is very similar and there most likely is a connection of Salvador having worked for Schneider before moving to Scotland.
