Goblet Daisy & Greek Key ?
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:29:44 PM »
Am I correct in assuming that this goblet I recently added to my collection is by Davidson ? It has the Daisy and Greek Key pattern but I haven't been able to find a goblet like this in any books to confirm it is by Davidson ....Your input would be appreciated. thanks

Couldn't say if it was Davidson but I have seen pieces by Molineaux Webb with a Greek key pattern maybe it's one of theirs ?

Daisy and Greek Key has been made by Leerdam and by several German makers as well, so I would not be surprised if it were a standard mould that was delivered with the machine.

The key seems to be facing the other way on the Davidson, according to the 1886 Pottery Gazette. Colour also looks a bit yellow for Davidson

Thanks so much for your replies guess I need to look into this one a bit more. I have taken some more photos in daylight, looking at the greek key jug at http://www.cloudglass.com/r18911900.htm I think the key is the same direction.
