Whitefriars or maybe not! Caithness & handbag
« on: April 27, 2012, 12:24:53 PM »
Hello, I am new, please see my post in the Cafe place  :)

I know a lot of people must come on here thinking they have Whitefriars then are disappointed when they are not! So I'd rather be the opposite.  Any idea of pattern name / maker / value?

I take it the group shot are all Caithness, but I forgot to check the bases.

The last photo is of a green glass handbag, which I'm guessing is modern china-made and not worth anything. HOWEVER, seeing as I was totally wrong about my "art nouveau" I'm not leaving anything to chance  ;D this might be the most valuable thing in dad's collection.

Top one is Aseda I believe. One item per topic is always the best way with identity requests.

Hiya and welcome!
No, it's not WFs. I'm sure this one has been identified, but I don't know the answer - somebody else here will.
Yes, the group shot are all Caithness,
Yes, the bag is Chinese. I think they were marketted under the brand name of Laguna.

In future, please would you be kind enough to post just one piece of glass in each thread?
(It can get very confusing if several pieces and different makers all get jumbled up in one place.)

Off to see what you say in the cafe...... :)

I think the top one is a bark vase by Bo Borgstrom for Aseda but I could be wrong  :)

Not really a bark vase but sometimes described as bamboo and yes, Aseda and Borgstrom.
