I hope I don't appear foolish for thinking that this may be anything other than something new you buy at TK Maxx, but I thought it may be older.  I guess i'm assuming it's older because smoke glass seemed to have been more popular earlier in the century.  The shape is so modern and minimal I thought perhaps it might be German from the 1950's or earlier.  I think it is make out of crystal.  It has an unusual sound when you tap it.  The rim is polished and the bottom seems unusually smooth and may have been polished slightly, though it's hard to tell.  I think it might just be something to do with the production process.  Anyway, it just doesn't look or feel like anything I've had my hands on.  It sits 8" inches tall and approx. 6.25" inches from corner to corner. Maybe someone has an idea of where to start looking.  My initial thought was the design of Wilhelm Wagenfeld.......

Mod: Surplus image code removed as it no longer works on the board

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards Iittala.

Hi Doriangraye

I have one of these in Blue

Here is what I was told when I put mine up a few years ago ( help with identification please - is it NUUTAJARVI?
« on: December 15, 2009, 12:54:04 PM »)

<<Definitely Nuutajärvi but not Kaj Franck. The designer is Harry Moilanen, c.1963. He was primarily a ceramicist for Nuutajärvi's sister company Arabia but designed a number of items for Nuutajärvi around that time, including the Harri stemware.>>

You will find it on designlasi.com  too, listed as vase 1437
lovely vase -

Glad you've got there so quickly.

However, would you please, pretty please, upload your images directly on to the board? They have a nasty habit of vanishing or moving when not, which renders the thread useless for future reference. It also makes it much easier for viewers.

(and that link produced a ton of suspicious looking pop-ups and extra pages I had not clicked on. I don't like computers doing that to me, so I don't think I'll be clicking on it again.)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

I completely understand, but I simply grew tired of trying to adjust my images to fit the size limits for the site.  I just found it easier to upload them elsewhere.

Re resizing images - I used to find it a lot of bother too as my camera software wasn't too user-friendly.  Anyway, I downloaded Microsoft's Image Resizer and I can resize to an appropriate size for the board with one click.  Here is a link you mind find useful

I think most web browsers now have a pop up blocker in the preference options, but I live in the United States so I'm not familiar with other country's software. And I also use a Mac  ::)
