Hello all, along with collecting glass i also love old cookery book's, imagine my surprise at finding this ??

I have posted this here as i have forgotten how to post in the cafe, sorry.

I just love this kind of thing!  Now who is going to attempt to mend a broken piece of glass I wonder?

Just a thought, how do you tie broken glass together ? or do they mean the old staples they used to use?

String. Good, old-fashioned string. 
I've read about the aged milk "glue" before, but I haven't tried it.

Sue, have you many of the Good Housekeeping Picture Recipe books? I've inherited a couple - I've been using them since I was a wee tot - thay are fantastic - all the recipes work. There's a section at the back of one, which even gives the instructions for building a fitted kitchen - "not beyond the skills of a general handyman"... (ie. hubby... slightly sexist )

All I need now is a flat kettle and some "skim milk".

Incidentally he is a macrame expert....... as a very small boy, he made me a very complicated plant pot holder for my birthday which involved lengths of string up and down two flights of stairs in the house... and a great deal of determination.
