please help identify rustic glass vessel**SOLVED**
« on: June 21, 2012, 03:34:03 AM »
Can anyone help identify this glass vessel?  It's about 9" high, no maker's marks- and the bottom is rounded, so you can't stand it up.  The glass is very thick, and the 'mouth' of the bottle is very rough.  The outside of the glass is heavily pitted... maybe been on a beach somewhere?  Slight greenish tint.  I would really like to find out what this was used for, and maybe how old it is.  I have been clicking all over the internet, trying to identify it- no luck.  Please help!
***this is a mineral water/soda bottle, circa 1840***
