Possible Lindstrand fish- help needed.
« on: July 03, 2012, 11:39:36 PM »
Greetings one and all.
  Another purchase but cannot locate where I have seen a similar item!! The marks on the base raise some queries. Clear glass fish 19.5cm long  widest part 3.5cm with one long teardrop shaped internal bubble and one smaller round bubble, flat base with what appears to be  inscribed- Kosta (this is very lightly inscribed) and somewhat more legible LL or LH 1602.
  Now my query is- are  these the correct  marks for this object if indeed it is a Kosta item?? First and third pictures have picked up the reflection of a paper label- looks like a heart shape in the pics- this label is the previous sellers stock label.
regards from Carol in, a rather shaken not stirred, New Zealand.

That is stunning Carol - what a find!

I googled images for  Lindstrand fish and found this link - they look the same to me - and the number quoted in the text looks like the same number on the base of yours - except the last digit possibly - which might vary by size judging from the info here.?

And very pleased that  you are only shaken this time - lucky, as it was a bigger quake than the Christchurch one according to reports - take care.

Lovely find Carol... defo Lindstrand.  I don't 'do' fish, but I do 'do' Lindstrand so recognise the style.
Glad you are safe & Sound... our thoughts are with you all. {{hug}}

Yes its a Lindstrand whale. Should read LH 1623 if you look closely.

Many thanks for all the positive comments. The numbers are 162 then a squiggle that could be a 0 or a 6 so the jury is still out on the last mark.
 The earthquake was felt all over New Zealand, about 10.30 last night,but  quite shallow- it felt like being on a plate of jelly!
