Hi,i was just going through some books & found something similar to your piece.
Epergne with sweetmeat glasses in basket form, suspended from arms springing free from a tall central column.
A high pyramid of one saver above another in gradulating sizes.
And this refers to an old piece c1753 where a Lady of the house describes how to use it.
Salvers are filled with all kinds of dry & wet sweetmeats, colour'd jellies, creams, biscuits, crisp'd almonds etc,Top salver must have large preserved fruit.
Taken from "The Collector's Dictionary of Glass" E.M.Elville
Just abit of trivia for you, cheers kat
