G Glass Novy Bor
« on: August 05, 2012, 01:51:31 PM »
A Sunday Boot fair find. Picked it up because of the 'Prunts'. Somewhere on here I read "Strawberry or Raspberry Prunts"  I know Novy Bor is a region where a lot of Glassworks were based (GMB Knowledge again :)) but couldnt find anything on the sticker on the piece. As you can see G Glass with 3 letters JBX ? JEX ? Cant really make them out. Is it a Glass exporter/Retailer. Does anyone Know maker or age ?
Does anyone know how to get wax from inside......without pouring boiling water in  ;D :o

after 2 extensive sessions of searching my eyes are burning and still have nothing on this piece. Searches for G Glass are blank, Candlestick and prunts etc still Blank.  Does anyone have any Key words they think would help in the search. I thought the raspberry prunts would be a help and saw plenty of glass with them and in a similar colour. I have emailed a few sites to see what they can come up with.  Pete

the producer of old glass replicas in the Czech Republic is královská Hut - chances are that when it is green and has prunts it was made there.

Your rather frivolous candlestick is, however, not in their 2002 catalogue - but you might try asking them directly. They're nice people.
