Another Strathearn ?
« on: November 30, 2012, 02:14:16 PM »
Hi , could this be an earlier Strathearn P/W?
The weight is just under 2.5 inches dia and 1.750 inches tall.
Firepolished concave pontil mark with a blue ground.
11 spirals and in between a 1 1 cane set up.
1 central cane with 6 blue outer ones surrounded by a circle of 10 outer canes, some of the canes seem to be very crisp and are not too distorted.
I am just about caned out LOL as i am unable to find any similar canes particularly on the smugmug site which is very informative but there again i might have missed them.
Any help would be much appreciated
Many thanks
Malc

Hi Malcmat

Either Strathearn or late Vasart.

They were experimenting with fire polishing spoke weights towards the end of Vasart. Strathearn spoke weights are always fire polished.

Best regards
