Vase with glass thread

I bought this heavy vase with a thick blackish-purple glass thread.  The thread is about 2.40 meter in lenght. 
I really want to know about the ID. I think of Czech design but that is a wild guess, maybe Scandinavian or Krosno ?
Dimensions including the glass thread 16x16cm it weights 1.65 Kg.
