Info on Jay Strongwater ornament?
« on: March 16, 2013, 03:36:28 PM »
Hi all. I'm new here, and was hoping that y'all could help me. I have a Jay Strongwater ornament, and I've scoured the net trying to find out information about it, but to no avail. From what I've gathered, most of his ornament (and other pieces) have a name, as well as a production year. Those were my main questions. If original price, or current value, are known, that would be good to know as well, but I'm more on earned with name and year than anything.

The only information that I've been able to figure out (and I'm not even sure if it's accurate), is that the jewels on the ornament are probably Swarovski crystals, and it's possible that these ornaments were produced either for, or with, another company or charity organization.

I can't attach the pics directly to the post/board, as I'm on an Ipad. Is there not a way to post them from a URL on here? The standard [img] tags don't seem to work

Welcome to the board, hopefully this will work but attaching photos is preferable, with time linked photos tend to disappear.

The other two don't work for me.

Is the dog itself glass? If not this probably isn't the right place for your questions

It appears to be, and while trying to research it, it seems that his other ornaments are glass as well

Well since he has a website (it appears to be mostly jewelry, ornaments, etc that have colored beads/crystals) you might try contacting his company at the URL below since they have customer service.

Thanks, but I've actually tried contacting them several times. I've also tried contacting a person through LinkedIn that I found during my google search, whom had Strongwater make 2 different ornaments. There's a possibility ths might be one of those two, but I have no idea as I still haven't heard back fom them yet either. I've literally spent hours on google, going fom link to link, and can't find anything. I was hoping that someone here might have some info, or at least might be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks

You might be able to get assistance from a forum on costume jewellery - that's what I would consider this to be, rather than glass.
I don't know if there is a costume jewellery forum,  :) but I would suspect there is.
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)
