I've just trawled the Caithness images on Scotland's Glass.
I cannot find a vase this shape with Fuchsias on - the only Fuchsias I can find which are not lampwork in weights is the Ltd. Edn. one here;

by Helen MacDonald.

I've just done an ebay search too, for engraved + fuchsias. It comes up with Stuart, Royal Brierley and Gleneagles.
No Caithness.

Stuart:

Bohemia Glass also did vases with fuchsias, and they do iridescent glass.... mine here in purple/pink colour:
http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pid=701 but I've also seen them in a peach iridescent colour. 8)

That is handy Anne, looks like the kind of thing Sue was describing and quite unlike the (Caithness ;) ) vase in question.

Yup, ;D  but it is a completely different shape - that's the rainbowy stuff.

Still no evidence for fuchsias in Caithness though, John.  8)
And the base of the vase in question is considerably more than "just variation in the making". This shape is one I do see around a lot - and it has a very thick bottom.
(I has personal expertise in thick bottoms, I has!  ;) )

Ok, I've been out and about a little bit this weekend!
I have now seen Caithness things with both labels and fuchsias. The Caithness fuchsias are rather stylised flowers - not big blousy things but rather minimalist, with 3 dangly bits.
So I am now convinced this is Caithness - but in a vein suggested by Christine - rather newer and "glass-saving", so not heavy and chunky-based.
And still not illustrated on Scotland's Glass - so photographs might be appreciated there.  ;)

Thanks to everyone for your comments .
Just to advise you that it weighs about 600 grams if that helps ,

I'm not in the habit of taking weighing scales out with me  ;)
- and I'm afraid metric is for lab work only. For everything else, I'm still highly imperial.

But your vase is Caithness - newish.  :)
