ID on this lovely signed bowl.
« on: April 15, 2013, 04:43:10 PM »
Hi.  Does anyone have any suggestions about this bowl.  It's a nice heavy piece, slightly tinted blue with colour inclusions.  Thought it might be worth taking a punt on as it is very good quality.  The label on it in the shop just say's 80/90's glass, so not much help.  It is signed on the base but i couldn't get a good pic of it.  The first word starts with a 'T' the second i'm pretty sure starts with a 'P'.

Hello and welcome to the gmb.  :)
This looks as if it might be quite an interesting piece - could you, pretty please, try photographing it on a plain white background - a sheet or just  some clean paper would do nicely; and to bring out the signature for photographing, try dusting it with a little talcum powder and removing the excess with your thumb.
I'm afraid I can't really make out what it really looks like at all from these pics.  :'(

I thought it had been bought.  :-[
I was thinking too much about the glass and not paying enough attention to the other details. It's past "brain-switch-off" time.  ;)

I'm sure that if asked nicely the shop person would allow a sheet of white paper below it for picture taking? :)

Thanks for the replies.  I ended up buying the bowl in the end as i really like it.  Here are some slightly better pics of it, including the signature.  Hope this helps with the ID

Thanks.

I can't read the signature I'm afraid - but it is a lovely piece.
I hope somebody else here might be able to recognise it.  :)

The only thing I've seen like it is a Linda Greening (Pear Tree Glass) plate, but it's not one of her pieces. I don't recognise the signature either, sadly.

Lovely indeed! Look what I've deciphered from that signature:   Tanja Pak     :D
