Interesting - I don't think the shape is exactly the same as the bowl looks differently shaped, yours looks rounder, and it's very difficult to tell without having them side by side positioned correctly, but I've just asked a question about this one

Can we have a base shot Mel please and is it dimpled on four sides of the stem and also four sides of the bowl?
thanks
m

I think it may be mica in the green not aventurine and I'm not sure whether it would be classed as a life light

Hi M,
very unlike me to miss a bottom shot - I do like bottoms! unfortunately I'm at work at the moment so will sort that this eve and from memory think it has 4 dimples to the bowl and 4 to the body but will confirm later

The one in the CW link is similar - think the base is different though

Hi Christine, thought mica was silver? this is definitely green sparkles, will try and get a better close up this eve that pic was just a recrop. Will try harder  - promise.

is there any info about to use as a life light ID guide? - only just come across the term reading these threads

Mel

It may sparkle green because it is suspended in the green. If it is little squarish bits it will be mica. I doubt the life light name because the bottom part seems too voluminous. Have a look through here http://www.fairy-lamp.com/

This is a very interesting piece. I would not classify this as a life light, but the decor is quite interesting. I might lean towards Welz, but would not go as far at this point as to say it is by Welz..  I have never seen this decor before.

Would it be OK to copy your pics for use in my Welz research and potentially on my website if I can identify it??

Great piece... I love it.....  very distinct.

hi M,
ok, base shot attached, it is cased, no pontil mark of any description - 4 dimples to body and 4 to bowl

hi Christine,
close up attached, best we can do - combined effort, still not seeing any mica, what do you think? Thanks for the link, I think my Richardson tulip vase is probably one but having read and looked at the sketches I agree the base of this one is too big.

hi Craig,
Yes, it caught my eye and I felt the need to rescue it! You are very welcome to the pics - let me know if you want the original larger files I can email those direct if it helps

I recently read your Welz research article - very interesting. Keep up the good work  :-)
