Frantisek Zemek candle holder

Nice Zemek candle holder found today (mistook it for Skrdlovice first due to the colours), 18 cm high.

It looks like a piece from the range shown at the Expo 1958 >> Link to CGR 1958/6
Seems to be the colour combination "amber - rosa" :)

According to a Sypka auction catalogue it was made at Borske Sklo, Novy Bor.

Great piece Rocco, I like these. They are not all that common, I see about one a year or less. There are other colourways too. I would have definitely suggested a Mstisov- Karlovarske Sklo attribution. Sypka is not always correct, do they reference CGR? The article does not seem specific.... the pattern numbers for it in CGR look Mstisov Karlovrske don't they?

I like that whole Zemek range shown in CGR 1958/6; as far as I can see there is no glassworks specified...

I would have thought Mstisov, too.

The seller I bought it from had several very tempting pieces (Kotik propeller vase, Jelinek "Olympie" ashtray), but I decided to go for this one ;)

These Zemek pieces for the Bruxelles World Fair are really not easy to come by.
So I am very happy about finding this beautiful vase, featured in CGR 1958/6 >> Link to Jindrich's site.
