ODD GLASS BOWL - PRESSED GLASS, FISH COLOURS
« on: May 04, 2013, 09:56:38 PM »
Can anyone please help me with this - I manage (normally) to ID all my glass buys on the internet, but after a whole evening of searching I am unable to find the manufacturer of this. I've found someone on ebay uk selling a matching cake stand and someone in ebay.au selling a matching bowl, but neither seller has any clue of the bowls origins.

Thanks in advance

Lisa

This might possibly be Waltherglas?  Hopefully someone will be along shortly who will be able to confirm or deny :)

i agree with Christine - this is most likely Walther glass from Germany. And welcome to the glass message board, Lisa.

thanks for your replies  and I hope you are right- I've looked under walther glass and I can't find anything, but it certainly looks like walther glass I do have a number of other pieces - I tried all the british glass makers too - eventually I will find out though!

welcome to gmb, Lisa
definitely I don't know whether this is Walther - many years ago (1980ies) I saw a bowl with flowers which had great similarities in style but that was made in Japan  :) just an idea...

Don't confuse Auguste Walther & Sohne with Walther-glas http://www.waltherglas.de/waltherglas4/Start_EN/start_home.html

The stuff you saw Pamela might have been Mikasa, but that is a brand not a manufacturer
