Topic: Mould-blown decanter - FGC - ID = Forster's Glass Co of St Helen's

Unfortunately, without an Rd. No. or name.          However, it does have a small cartouche on the underside in which are upper case letters FGC (I think) and opposite to which is the figure 22.           There's also a figure 1 on the bottom.
I'm inclined to think this stopper is not the original  -  it's a blown example, as opposed to a solid pressed one like the others, and not a brilliant fit.              Height is about 11.75" (300mm) including stopper.                         Might anone know what the letters stand for.   
Probably another of the Cottle/Lang type of imported wares, but that's only my opinion.                 Thanks for looking

think you've got a winner there Rose - certainly seems to match the letters although not sure that it helps with age.           I feel a little embarrassed for not doing my own research  -  my excuse is that I've been out for most of the evening.
Let's see what others think, but to me it does look as though it has the right connection with the letters.             It appears that we have previously (back in 2008) had a reference to this company, although not for decanters or bottles, but for fishing floats.......... bottles http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,4049.msg32487.html#msg32487

Unlike Cottle, they do seem to have been manufacturers, although I don't know whether they ever Registered their designs - will need to look through the Blue Book.           Remarkable how similar this piece is to other known Cottle mould-blown decanters which I understand were imported.

Obviously, I should take my own advice and use the search facility more often.

There's an old Bovril jar by Forster's here: http://www.thecuckoofarm.com/cuckoo/glass/bottle/bovril/bovril.php base says "BOTTLE MADE IN ENGLAND BY FGC".

Glass fishing floats are also found with the letters FGC, also thought to be made by Forsters.
