Been trawling the recesses of my brain for the correct name for this process.
(Dipping the hot gather in cold water to create this surface texture, before reblowing)
I believe it is actually prima vera.
http://www.glassfacts.info/indexefb4.html?fid=359Crizzling is the name for very old glass which has sort of jig-sawed itself into tiny bits with cracks, but was the name used by Michael Harris for this technique when he used it at Mdina and IoWSG.
Unfortunately, having spent most of my glass time concentrating on Mr. Harris and all his connections, crizzling is the word I
automatically use for this surface treatment - whether on the surface or inside a piece.
