Two-coloured bark effect glass vase - ID = probably Japanese
robbyoblock:
Hi
I am looking for help identifying the maker of this vase. I thought it was Ingrid Glashütte.
thanks
Robby
Wayne:
Hi Robby, welcome to the GMB. It's always best to include shots of the rim and base, as the way they are finished can help point to a particular maker.
Having said that, I'm pretty sure this kind of bark textured vase has not yet been positively identified, although I think Japanese, Austrian or German is most likely. I don't think it is by Ingrid though. The Ingrid bark vases tend to have flat ground and polished rims.
Personally I suspect these are of Japanese origin, but I've yet to find any proof! :)
rocco:
Hi Robby,
welcome to the board!
Your vase isn't Ingrid Glas.
I think it is Japanese -- is it the same shape as the one to the right? >> Link
(The Label with the "S" is not Sea glasbruk; here is another one with the same label, but with Japan added http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,50256.0.html)
Michael
edit: Wayne was faster ;)
edit2: I personally have never seen any two-coloured Ingrid glass piece...
Wayne:
Michael, I think you mean to include this link too?
(I was a bit baffled for a while) :)
Great that you found the proof I was after, cheers, I've been looking out for a labelled one of these for a while!
