Elongated Crystal Green/Amber Pleated Vase I.d Request.
« on: June 15, 2013, 01:32:31 AM »
Hi, Can anyone help me identify this blown glass vase.  The vase measures 39.4cm in height.  the first thing noticeable, is that the neck is off centred, causing the shoulders to look entirely different.   The base is flat and polished.   Under magnification the base shows extensive signs of ware and areas mainly around the base edge are pitted with very small flea bites.  pitting also is visible around the lower part of the vase. The neck has relatively flat sides.  These flats are where the pleats fade into the neck.   This is not a vase I have ever seen before.   My first thoughts were Murano, but was unable to find anything that bares resemblance other than the base finish.  I've looked at Kosta Boda Vases, as I am aware that some of their vases do have similar shapes, but I can't say that about the pleated design.  The vase is extremely heavy, weighing approx. 2.7kg.    In anticipation, I am hoping that someone will be able to provide the date and origin and how this vase was actually made. :)
