Am I missing something here?   Is the silver mica with the stripes a rarity?   I did bid early on, but never expected it to reach this price.

or some shilling... look at the bidding history! The last sensible bid was £330, then one of the two who took over must have put a silly amount on the day before it finished, the other bidder had to keep upping and upping.

A nice early  piece, though there is to much clear glass and not enough colour in it for my liking.  Is it worth £3,100, the simple answer is yes, it is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Would I have paid that for it, definitely not.

yip something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, but was it worth it in my eyes ? only if I was a billionaire , record price for a monart vase? must be pretty close,

I know who the 20,000+ bidder is - he is a major collector in the USA.    But even I am surprised he bid that high.   But I must admit some of the bidding !!!!! no further comment.

It is a really nice piece especially with all the silver mica.   I've tried, when I can afford it, to specialise in striped pieces and I've never seen a striped piece with the silver before.   However, my memory is not as good as it once was - lol

There is an example of a striped piece with silver mica on Franks site Scotland Glass, it is shape Q, there was a vase shape AA on ebay last year with stripes and silver mica, that's the only two examples I can recall.

yes, I'd spotted shape Q on Ysartglass site.   So it's rare - still not worth that sort of money.    So what price would someone pay for say something like the Berluze vase?????   Not that is rare!
