Glass Bird Dish ??
« on: June 16, 2013, 11:03:55 PM »
Had this for a while....about 2 years now

Clear Glass bird Dish.  Lots of weight, about 6 inches long.  Not sure if Vannes, or princess crystal as the wings are different on what I can find.

Any info as to maker, or age?

TIA

Hi Rose,
I'm no help with ID but one of your ashtrays cousins must have flown south for the winter.
Mine is slightly larger at just under 8 inches from tail tip to beak and blue.
Quite simple in form, quite heavy (sorry no scales at our house!) and bubble free!

Cheers
megan

Art Vannes made similar bowls modelled on various animals but I have never seen a coloured example made by them.

Nice Blue one Meegs!!  Thanks Meegs

Can you post a pic of the bottom of yours as with mine clear hard to see.

Thanks glassobessed as I thought Art Vannes was always clear too. I know I have something else we figured it was Vannes, but it was Amber (I think it was a seal) so we never figured that one out either.

Hope these birdies find their heritage....LOL
