Turquoise Glass Bubble Pattern Hexagonal vase. Dartington?
« on: July 05, 2013, 07:04:52 PM »
Hello Again! Can anyone ID this turquoise bubble pattern vase. I thought it looked similar to Dartington Glass? It has a few wear scratches to the base, so I thought it might be 1960's? Looks retro to me anyway! It would be nice to know the name and age of the vase.
Best Wishes
Vickie :)

Hi, you could try looking under E O Brody Glass, USA.   I've seen some of their pieces with the 5/6 sided shape, but tbh, I don't recall seeing that colour range.  I've even gone as far as to look at the Chinese rage, but nothing at present.   I wonder if the correct name for your vase is hobnail too?  From your picture the base edge looks worn, probably a 60's vase at a guess  ::)

I've had a couple of these over the years (pics attached in case the colours help), but never did manage to identify them.  Personally I got a bit of an Italian / Empoli vibe, but that's just a gut feeling.  I think it's safe to rule out Dartington though.  :)

Hi,  there currently is one on ebay, very similar to the green vase posted Wayne.   The title states  Empoli, but when you read the description, there is some uncertainty.  It's definitely not a vase I've ever seen before and have no idea other than what I have previously mentioned.    Empoli is definitely a likely possibility.   Hopefully one of the GMB specialist will be able to confirm the origin.

The heading on Ebay states Empoli though  ::).   Oh dear!  You could change the heading to 'Empoli Vibe'  ;D.

True - now revised.  Looks like I was a bit more sure of things when I listed it quite a while ago, I forgot I still had it to be honest!
